- Indoor Use: Keep the tree in a cool room, away from direct heat sources, to reduce stress and needle drop. Use a water-holding container or stand the growing pot in a decorative cover pot to catch excess water.
- Watering: Water thoroughly and regularly, ensuring the soil doesn't dry out completely, but avoid leaving the roots in soggy conditions (they are sensitive to wet soil).
- Light: Provide abundant, bright, and direct light.
- Repotting/Planting Out: After using it indoors, the tree should be moved back outside. For continued pot growth, repot annually into a slightly larger pot until you reach a manageable size. If you want to plant it in the garden, do so in the spring in a sunny position in moist, well-drained soil.
